In the PICU during spring 1995

These photographs show Will's newly
implanted percutaneous gastrostomy tube (the feeding tube going into his
stomach). In addition, he has a trachea tube, IV, and a heart monitor.
Will constantly had IV's in his hands, arms, feet, and head. Due to the
large number of needle sticks he experienced, it was difficult to find
suitable IV sites. This meant Will would often be stuck continuously for
an hour or longer in an attempt to place an IV.
