An
update of Will's current health and treatment

Cardiac Assessment
in Boston
Will underwent a
cardiac MRI at Children's Hospital of Boston on 19 March 1999. The
exam revealed that Will's aorta was problematic, secondary to a previous
repair in Wisconsin. However, the cardiologists felt that it did
not require immediate repair. Furthermore, the quality of the MRI
images were so clear that they did not have to perform the scheduled catheterization--sparing
Will from having to undergo anaesthesia and several days stay in the hospital.

Orthopedic follow-up
appointment
Will was seen by
the orthopedic surgeon on 9 March 99 for a two-month post-operative follow-up
appointment. The surgeon indicated that Will had made great progress
and that he did not need to see Will for another year.
Cardiac assessment
in Boston:
Will is scheduled
to return to Children's Hospital of Boston on 19 March 99 for further assessment
of his troublesome aortic arch. He is scheduled to undergo a cardiac
MRI and cardiac catheterization. Depending upon the results of the
assessments, he may undergo angioplasty or an aortic stint during the catheterization,
or he may require additional surgery.
Dental Procedure:
Will underwent dental
work under anaesthesia at Duke University Medical Center. Will sailed
through the procedures (with only a little nausea from the anaesthesia)
Orthopedic Surgery
Will underwent his
second surgery on his left femur in January 1999. The surgery removed
the bracket and screws that were placed during his femoral osteotomy surgery
one year ago. The surgery was successful and Will did not require
another cast. He spent one night in the hospital and was walking
(hobbling) by the following evening.
