A correspondent has taken a particular interest in this man, and it appears he was a "lost soul." His real name was probably Herbert Lee Cornell, and he was the son of Thomas Cornell of Washington Co., PA. His wife was named Fairy as was his step-daughter. She threatened to accuse him of rape, and he killed them both. Then, he tried to take his own life but failed. (additional CA newspaper articles)
