Where Y'all a Goin' on Your Honeymoon????

If we've been asked once, we've been asked 100 times. So, here it is:

THE CANADIAN MARITIMES

After the collective "do what?" has been sighed, now let me explain.

No, we're not going to what some people refer to as Soviet Canuckistan, even though Quebec isn't that far away. The rationale behind this is quite varied, so please hear us out. First, we have done the Gulf of Mexico thing and we see no need in re-visiting what Yankees refer to as the Redneck Riviera or Snowbird Alley. Been there, done that. Next, we wanted something out of the ordinary. Well, we got it. Lots of seafood, but lobster instead of crawfish. The Atlantic Ocean and whales instead of the Gulf and sharks. High tides on the Gulf Coast or the 40+ foot tides of the Bay of Fundy. Get my point? Then you have history and ancestry considerations. I love history and the Canadian Maritimes have lots of history going back to French, English, Irish settlements and ties to the French and Indian Wars and the American Revolution. Also, it is home to the Acadians which are the predecssors of my beloved's ancestors, Cajuns. Did I mention lots of lighthouses? We'll see plenty! Finally, the lure of beauitful coastlines on Cape Breton Isle and Prince Edward Island.

So, where is it? (maps courtesy of Rand McNally & BayFerries.com)
