A few hints and kinks of DXing
- Listen
Tune slowly and listen for the weak ones. If there is a pile-up, listen carefully to
the DX stations listening habits. Does he track from the bottom or the top of his
split listening frequencies in going back to a call. Never xmit on his xmit frequency.
Ignore the frequency police and lids on his frequency.
- Give your full call
Don't give your last two. Most respectable DXers will ignore it. Besides,
it's illegal. Don't join in nets. Work the DX on your own without cheating. I don't
know how many times I've worked a new one within 3 KCs of a net while they were
working a common European.

- Develop a rhythum
Many DX stations can respond rapidly to a call in a pile-up. This will determine
whether you give your call once or twice. If you have to give your call more than
four times you're just adding to the QRM and aren't listening enough.

- Using the AMP
You will be surprised how many times you will get through with 100 watts over
others having 2000+ watts if you develop good listening and xmit habits.
If all else fails, light the coals and smoke 'em.
