It was evident that my uncle had apparently replaced the fork at some time because it showed no ware.  In the case of the assembly I purchased from another tractor the collar and fork bearing showed no ware indicating that they were recent replacements.  I suspect that the clutch operating linkage is an area of considerable maintenance over the years on a lot of John Deere B tractor.


Below the pulley has been removed.  One of the dogs can be viewed at 5 O'clock.  Before reassembly I painted the pulley with a silver gray to simulate a working bare metal pulley.
