Our day-hike to the waterfalls was one of many highlights during a trip full of *exciting events*. My own trip started in Taipei, where I joined my parents at the beginning of a hunger strike in front of the Legislative Yuan building. We want the Legislature to pass a plebiscite law to allow the Taiwanese to vote their conscience and determine their own independent future. We joined Mr. and Ms. Hsu from the World United Formosans for Independence (who you see in the first picture with my parents). Some of these pictures were published in the Taiwan Tribune.

Before our bus trip (see below), we visited Akon and Ama at their hotel. Akon had lost his walking stick -- which you see we found right there in the room. We also visited with my uncle, my mother's eldest brother, and my aunt.

Here are two shots of Taipei traffic -- everything you heard about the traffic is true. If they weren't cheap and necessary, I wonder if anyone would take a taxi. Yes, the scooters there are piled around a city police car, blocking it in!

We took a bus trip down the east coast of Taiwan.

We stayed at the Taipaing National Forest.

The cousins went for a hike to the waterfalls.

We all took a train ride to see the view.

Back in Taipei, we had the big party for Akon and Ama.
