News:
- To the players of the U-13 United
Quest Blue: Thanks for a memorable and exciting year! You girls are awesome!
- Pictures posted! We've
posted pictures from the Jesup trip, the team
party and the celebration after our upset win over the
Quest U-12 Red team. Plus there's a perfectly-timed
photo of Alex's winning goal. We thank team photographers Rhonda Bergman and Beverly
Womack for their excellent work!
- Hmm... Let's step into the time machine for a moment, going
back to December, 1998, right after our game against the GSA Phoenix White in the Athens
Finale tournament. The game report included this
final thought: "The Quest didn't win the game, but they won the respect of
everyone in attendance with their combination of skilled play, hustle and determination.
If the team can build on this during the spring, watch out "C" division!"
For those of you who didn't follow the team closely during the spring, the girls
did indeed build on this performance, finishing in 2nd place in the "C" division
to earn promotion into the "B" division!
- Canterbury Cup tournament: We
made it to our first-ever tournament championship match! Congratulations Quest Blue!
- We won our first game, earning maximum points
with a 3-0 victory over the Roswell Santos Red.
- We won our second game, as Sarah scored a
late goal to give the Quest a 1-0 win over the Brookwood Steamers White.
- We won our third game, battling every minute
of the game against the United Quest U-12 Reds. Alex scored on a beautiful long-range free
kick midway through the first half, and the Quest defense did a great job stopping the Red
team as we held on to win 1-0. News
flash: Click here for a great photo of
Alex's goal.
- We played the U-13 White team for the U-13
Athena championship. The Quest Blue took an early 1-0 lead off yet another long free kick
goal by Alex. The Quest White stormed back, though, taking a 4-1 halftime lead on the
strength of a quick, full field attack and dangerous crosses. The Quest Blue was
determined to go out with a blaze of glory, and they played an inspired second half, but
were only able to get one goal back. Final score: Quest White 4, Quest Blue 2.

- Team party! After our 3-0 Canterbury Cup win against Roswell, we
had a team party at Bertucci's Brick Oven Pizzeria. As always happens with this bunch,
everyone had a great time. Lots of good food, good fun and laughs. Plus a surprise visit
by a bunch of big-haired ladies! Click here for pictures from
the party, or click here to read the Jesup game
recap to learn about our fascination with big-haired ladies.
- United Quest Blue earns promotion
from Athena division "C" to division "B": The Quest finished the spring regular season in 2nd place in the U-13
Athena "C" division, with a record of 5 wins, 1 loss and 3 ties. The 2nd place
finish earns the Quest a promotion into the Athena "B" division for the upcoming
fall U-14 season. Click here to view
