Lloyd Addison Lanier,
born in Nashville, TN, worked on the
Cumberland River,
obtained
a Pilot's License, and later a
a Master's
License.
In 1869, he moved from Nashville to
Mill Spring, KY, after
purchasing a 1200 acre farm from
Thompson Brown, his
brother-in-law.
Josiah Allen Jones, son of Green
Talbot Jones and Nancy
Caldwell, served the Confederacy
during the War Between
the States. He soldiered with
Morgan's Raiders; he and
his brother, Joshua, were captured
by union forces during
one of Morgan's raids in
Kentucky.
Josiah's brother died
from small-pox at Camp Douglas,
Chicago, Illinois.
After the war Josiah attended the
Louisville College of
Medicine.

10 Theodore Lanier Jones, Sr. 1876 - 1929

Theodore Lanier Jones, Sr. was a physician. He
practiced medicine at Mill Springs for several years
and then moved to Western Kentucky, living at
Gutherie, Glasgow, Goodnight, Munfordville
and Brownsville. Theo L. Jones, Sr. died at a
hospital in Nashville, Tenn., of an abcess of the
brain brought on by spinal meningitis.
