In 1997 the Aliceville Housing Authority received $600,000 of CIAP funds from HUD.  Here are some pictures illustrating the renovations underway on 50 dwelling units. The first pictures are exteriors before, during and after  installation of the new siding.

A KITCHEN BEFORE
This is a picture of an old nasty kitchen after the damaged cabinets are removed.

A LIVING ROOM and BEDROOM AFTER Renovation!
After the renovations this resident invested in new bed clothes and curtains as well as other items to improve her bedroom.  Our experience indicates a great deal of appreciation by the residents for the renovation work, especially when central air is installed.  At Aliceville these residents were heating with electric baseboard heaters and now have central electric heat pumps for heating and air-conditioning.

BATHROOMS BEFORE, AFTER & OCCUPIED
The bathrooms were in awful shape before renovations as shown on the left.  The middle picture is a completed bathroom. The one on the right is later after a nice lady moved in and did some decorating.

PARK CAMERON RESOURCE CENTER
This is the Park Cameron Resource Center in Aliceville. It was an automobile dealership until a fire damaged it.  The housing authority bought it and we worked up a renovation package that included new siding and a new front entry area.
