WHAT QUALIFIES YOUR WHEELS FOR OUR REPAIR?
FYI: Our repair process is targeted to be an INEXPENSIVE solution in comparison to "wheel restoration." Therefore, it can not cure everything. It works best on wheels that have a "lip" where the bend is (usually bends on the inside are no problem; the outside of a wheel is much more a problem because of the cosmetic issues we are dealing with). We target to bring the out-of-roundness back to approximately 97%-99%. 99.5%-100% perfection would make the repair much more expensive and honestly, even most NEW WHEELS are NOT 100% PERFECT! We promise, once we call a wheel "FIXED" it will run SMOOTH on your vehicle and you will never notice that the bend was there. ...BEFORE YOU CALL SEND US A PICTURE! (please no larger than 350 KB) We would like to see the damage and the design of the entire rim to evaluate if our equipment is suitable for the repair.
How bad is the damage inside? We can fix most of those bends if they are not too severe. How about the outside? We fix minor bends on the outside of the rim but we need to see first what the damage is. Are you concerned about "cosmetics" (scratches, scrapes, etc.)? If you are VERY concerend about cosmetics then you need to choose a "wheel remanufacturing" process that is way more extensive and also expensive. We repair paint scratches and curb rash, but we shy away from re-chroming. We can usually make chrome damage look better , not perfect, just "better". Did your tire loose air? Are there any visible CRACKS? A crack or cracked rim is a totally different animal. It indicates that the rim is usually very brittle. We have added "Specialty Welding" to our service. Please send a picture and description what the problem is. Is it an aluminum, mag or steel wheel? Tell us shortly about the wheel... Is it a chromed wheel? A rim that was chromed after you bought it, or an originally chromed wheel? Chromed wheels OEM or after-market are very brittle and tend to crack. If the bend is truly minor on the inside of the rim, like only a 1/8th of an inch, we can probably fix that without big problems. If it is more we need to judge it if it is "economical" to repair. Again, all chromed rims tend to crack when pushing them back to shape. This makes the process much more complex.

You may not have a tire, or take the tire off for your own reasons and to save shipping charges. However, if you put / leave a tire on the rim it will save you time (don't need to go to a tire store twice), save de- and re-mounting charges and balancing fees. HOW MUCH is that? Your time savings? And YOU DON'T NEED TO BOX it for shipping; just a well affixed shipping label taped to the wheel and drop it off at UPS or FedEx. DONE. See our point? Did anybody try to fix the wheel or have you hammered on it? Please be honest. We need to KNOW (will find out anyway). If you did not try yet DON'T! Reason for is, sometimes there is additional and invisible damage inflicted by "trying" to fix it with inappropriate tools. If we tell you we can't fix it you can then bang around on it as much as you like... :-) Do you have a picture? If not, please make one as it will save you and us a lot of guesswork. Use a digital camera and e-mail a picture to us (please max. 150K size), or e-mail for our mailing address and send a Polaroid or regular photo to us.
FYI: We like the tire on the rim for several technical repair reasons, but mainly because we can simulate how the rim-tire combination will run on your car. Also, we "SuperBalance" your wheel with the tire on for FREE, so you can stick it on your car on GOOooo! We KNOW that so-called "balanced wheels" come to us every day "da'.n lousy balanced". We spend EIGHT (8) TIMES more time and effort to achieve the best possible wheel balance. We use a very accurate electronic wheel balancer; HOWEVER, the secret of a perfect wheel balance goes WAY beyond the balancer... We worry every time when a repaired rim without tire leaves us and a lousy tire balance screws a possible super smooth ride up... ...we don't leave you; in this case just call us and we'll help you to get your wheel balanced right locally.
DON'T FORGET: We SPECIALIZE in INSIDE BENT & OUT-OF-ROUND RIMS, MAINLY CAUSED BY POT-HOLES AND SIMILAR DEFECTS IN THE ROAD.
