Graphics Design classThis is an art class and aims to give students a taste of what graphic designers do, and a solid grasp of the digital tools they use. We learn the three main programs used in Graphic design, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign (A rival program, Quark is much more popular, because it has been around longer, but if you learn one, you can use the other, and InDesign is actually better). We learn about typography and page layout, photo manipulation and illustration on the computer, using Macs, which are the norm in the design field. We have lots of projects which I hope to list here soon. Projects have included CD covers, beverage containers, logos, T-Shirts, menus, drawing robots and creating people made entirely out of type characters. Here are some of the CD Cover designs. Students had to work with the Black and White photos found elsewhere on this site. |
