Taking a skiff (small boat with outboard motor) ride on a very calm day in Uyak Bay. With the outboard motor stopped, it is peaceful and quiet with not another person for many miles around -- that is being alone with nature. The southern end of Amook Island is seen in the background.

At anchor in Shelikof Strait. Kathy Ann at anchor off 7 mile beach out side Uyak Bay. The landmass in the background is the Alaskan mainland across from Kodiak Island with Shelikof Strait in-between. Doug's last trip to Alaska was in 1996. Kathy Ann was the last salmon fishing boat Doug fished on in his ventures to Alaska.
