Kodiak Island to Anchorage Alaska

This web site is dedicated to my son "Douglas Jager." Doug not only took most of the pictures that you will see on this site, but dedicated to him for the gallant stand he made in protecting individual freedom of the First Amendment to the United States Constitution. More on this Civil Liberties issue will be covered below.
Kodiak Island is often referred to as the Emerald Isle because of its lush green summer month that makes the island so beautiful.
On this site you will see Alaska scenic wilderness images from a small fishing village of Larsen Bay on Kodiak Island to the largest city in Alaska -- Anchorage. Pictures on this site show Kodiak bears that inhabit wilderness of the Emerald Isle, commercial salmon fishing (the main industry on the island during the summer months). See the Emeralds Isle's lush green picturesque coastline, wildlife, mountain hiking, magnificent Alaska midnight sunsets to the cold winter beauty around Anchorage. Pictures also show Kodiak Island's Alutiiq (Sugpiaq) heritage and ancient artifacts uncovered by an archaeological dig to present day Natives keeping the Aleut-Alutiiq art culture alive. Also, shown is picture made of a religious Russian Orthodox re burial service for the Alutiiq remains at Larsen Bay village -- after the remains returned from the Smithsonian Institute under the Native American Graves Protection Repatriations Act (NAGPRA). Some of the Alutiiq remains returned for re burial were thousands of years old and when alive never knew of the Russian Orthodox religion.

Great Links to Alaska Sites
As an Alaskan Native living away from my remote wilderness home village, I present another part to this site that I call: "How I came to know Christians while living in Douglas County, Georgia."
This section tells a story of a young man's struggle with forced prayer at public high school football games. A court case resulted from that struggle and went all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court. The U.S. Supreme Court let stand a lower court ruling with a result that eliminated prayers before athletic games in public schools in Georgia, Alabama and Florida. This religious section presents to readers how ugly and mean some Christians can be during a struggle for Civil Liberties. Visitors will see how religious power is used and abused by priests, clergymen (preachers) and their followers. Also, this site shows how religious Christian community in Georgia tried to impose fear and intimidation by using terrorist tactics as a control method. A page with transcribed terrorists telephone threats, show Christians harassment tactics in venting their hostility over the loss public school sponsored prayer before high school football games. Newspaper letters to the editor show members of the community vent their hostility in local newspapers. Christian's venting their hostility because people with different backgrounds, different beliefs and different cultures is a threat to their religion that is established in the local government -- a clear violation of the Constitution of the United States. Fear and intimidation in ages past was the same method used by witch doctors to control their superstitious tribe members. It is my firm belief that no one in the United States should suffer abuse because they hold to different religious beliefs, or no religious beliefs at all. Anything less than that and there is "No" freedom of religion and there is "No Freedom." Unchecked terrorist tactics used by the religious right, make it a necessity for maintaining a strong separation of State and Church. This of course does not mean that all Christians are bad people. There are many good honest people that are Christians. These Christian people would be good and honest people no matter what they believed.
