|
Dialogue 26 August 10, 2001 it was a zoo at the temple and I was teleported away by accident. I know some was missed but I did the best I could YiraDR: My Lord Herald nods Herald: Find Donlos for me YiraDR: I will try Herald JMagna44: We shall if we should find him M'Lord Herald Herald: The Servant of the Sceptre does not walk the lands at present. Very well then. If he is seen, carry onto him this message... Continue to search but look much deeper. JMagna44: Is Donlos to find these virtues he seeks in one of the Balance Herald? Herald: He is to find The One. Looking for the virtues is not enough. He is too look much deeper. And, if he needs assistance, he should seek those who would help where he may find them. There have been dreams. YiraDR: Herald, I am sorry for my departure, I was whisked away by mistake. Herald: It is with pleasure that your return is received. YiraDR: thank you Herald. this part is missing but I will find it. KatLongfellow: Dreams are very special Herald: Dreams conceal even as they reveal. Like ghosts in the mists. But, knowledge may be gained. What has been dreamed? Has no one here dreamed of what is to come? Jmagna44: I Dream of defeating that which comes to destroy us Herald, I Dream of Balance for all. Mackdanife: When I dream of the Realm, I dream of a great battle, unlike any we've seen...we group in groups of six, and are not able to defeat them. I made a plan in my dreams, to have 3 groups of six guarding a room/screen, to keep more than two opponents out, but it did not work, they still came in by the dozens. YiraDR: I have Herald, many times. Herald nods to Mackdanife Herald: And do you prevail in your dreams? Mackdanife: not always Herald: Dreams sometimes speak truth. The offerings, they have dwindled. Have you lost heart for the new place? JMagna44: No Herald I was on my way to drop offerings at the new place just before you came here tonight... Herald smiles at JMagna44 YiraDR: Herald, may I ask? is the new place the grove with your name? Herald: My name? Mackdanife: Despothes' name... DeathfromAbove: Herald does the new place refer to Despothes' Grove in Leinster? Herald: I have no name. I am merely the Lord of the Sceptre's Herald. You have seen then where our lord has planted his seed for your sanctuary? Mackdanife: I have not lost heart with the new place...but things get taken as soon as dropped. Herald: The objects of the offerings mean nothing. It is the act which gives our lord his strength through your faith. Ask if you will KatLongfellow: Can dreams, change what is to come? JMagna44: My offerings are that of our Mark M'Lord. Joseph: Herald. You are a messenger from the lord of Balance. Is it right for individuals to align themselves with one aspect of the circle of chaos as opposed to aligning themselves with the balance? And is it the vermin have been removed because they defiled the temple? Herald: To each is their own, and your question answers itself Joseph. Elmer's question is missing at the moment. Herald: A new One must be found Elmer. A new era is upon us. Elmer: ::nods:: I hope there will be found one who is worthy. Herald: Then help Donlos in his quest Joseph: How will we know the One when his presence is among us. Of what race will the One be? KatLongfellow: Are any worthy? Herald: All of you may be The One. If you find it within you. DeathfromAbove: how may we assist Donlos? Elmer: Herald, even an all Dumb Giant? ::chuckles:: Herald smiles Herald: Even one such as that Elmer Elmer bows to Herald and his wisdom Joseph: I believe I am the One. But of a purpose I am not yet aware. Perhaps not of The One you speak of. I could only hope to match such worthiness. JMagna44: Many carry the virtues which Donlos must find in the One that is the true One. His task will be a tough one indeed. Herald: Wherein one heart finds a failing, another may have strength. Taken together, they can be One. Do you understand? Joseph: I am confused Sir. Elmer: ::nods:: the one may be a union then Joseph: As we unite under the banner of balance, may we all be The One spoken of? KatLongfellow: So unification is key. Herald: Dream of it awhile. Ask of it again if the answer does not reveal itself to you Joseph. As has been told you, there is much you must come to know Joseph: How will we come to know of it. Herald: For these things to be revealed, The One must be found The One who shall understand what is told. KatLongfellow: We shall Seek. Elmer: Herald, aye, and we have been promised to be informed as time is filled, I am content to wait until that time Herald: It is well. Mortal time is not the time of the gods. Joseph: Herald. What must we do to prepare? Herald: Grow strong. Grow wise. Grow patient. And dream. Elmer: And perhaps try to grow in understanding the other person's points of view? JMagna44: Was the Sash I gave you the one Despothes had left in Leinster at the time of the Smiting Herald? Joseph: My dreams have been filled with Chaos of late. What must I do to rid my dreams of such Chaos? Herald: The offering of the Temple of Light...They have been many. It is well that it is so. But...shall the Balance truly be so outdone? Making the offerings is not a task of joy for you? JMagna44: No the Balance must always remain in everything Herald Mackdanife: yes it is a task of joy; many is the time we go back and make more offerings. Joseph: The Offerings are but mere images. If the feelings do not remain within the offering ...then the offering is meaningless. Herald: Is too much being asked of you? Mackdanife: no Herald: You have wisdom Joseph. Use it well. Joseph: Candles and cheese are of no importance to the Lord of Balance. Or are they Herald? Elmer: Herald, is it permitted that one of the light should also pay homage to the lord of the balance? DeathfromAbove: All are welcome in the temple of Balance Herald: It is Elmer. Joseph: I hope to gain wisdom by guidance of the Gods. Herald: As may those of Balance mark their faith in the Dark and in the Light. Joseph: The Gods have been silent to me. I seek their mark in my dreams. Herald: The objects mean nothing Elmer: It is the thought by which they are given Herald: Just so. The garden shall grow again soon and become more fitting for the followers of the King of the Gods. Joseph: Herald. May I expect the Gods to answer my dreams and show me guidance in my turmoil of Chaos in my Dreams? DeathfromAbove: We will do better to present offerings in the future Herald: You may expect what you will, but when the gods may truly act is known only unto them Joseph: Indeed. You speak only truth Herald. Herald: I see hides upon the floor of the temple in preparation for that which comes Joseph: Hides are the result of destruction though Sir. Does our Lord command us to destroy the creatures for their pelts? Herald: Do such creatures not serve their purpose by their sacrifice? JMagna44: We must kill to become strong Joseph Herald: Do they not provide you with strength and knowledge? KatLongfellow: We kill what we must to grow. Joseph: They do not provide the body with food on which to feed, to survive. Herald: For what creatures can stand before the turmoil that brews within the mists if not the followers of the gods? Joseph: Strength and Knowledge are strong attributes. But without the body's health. They are worthless to a mortal. Herald: Yira Speak of that which you wish to know. This is your time YiraDR: I was trying to record Herald, forgive me please. I wish to know of Donlos and the Dreamers. Herald: Donlos is the Servant of the Sceptre, tasked to find The One who will be given the knowledge you shall need in what is to come. The others are dreamers, as mortal as you, they dream as you too may do. My time grows short Joseph: Are the others commissioned with tasks of the gods? Or are they consumed by nothing more than their dreams? JMagna44: Are those the only three or will there be more Herald? Herald: Through the Light or through the Dark, so they may be. This would not be known to the Herald of Balance. Messages may come from many voices. Listen and choose what rings true within you. Dream of it and you may find that answer. poof top Dialogue 27 August 23, 2001 Herald: Speak, if you will. KatLongfellow: What of the thing in WinterWold? That came through? Does it live? Fleurs: Do you know where it is? Herald: A sign from the mists. In time. There is one who holds a vigil. There is nothing to be found there yet. Padon: Herald, who holds a vigil? Herald: Know him by his name. Listen when he speaks. Where heat beats unrelenting, water shall spring forth. And all around this freshness lies grave danger. This will come to pass very soon. What has lain barren shall burst forth with life. There is more. SO much more. So much that I was sent to see what could be found within the mists, and so was I away from you for so long. Dyno: What did you find, Herald? Herald: Many things. Changes. They will soon descend upon the mortal lands. KatLongfellow: Both good and bad? Herald: Both good and bad. Look at what you wear. Changes come. Fleurs thinks she looks nifty Herald smiles Herald: The offerings, they have been at times bountiful, and at times sparse. But, sufficient for the garden's growth. Changes. Know thee where those dedicated to the Sceptre have unfurled their flag in defiance against the gathering host. There too are there changes. Speak, if you will. KatLongfellow: Should our offerings be in the temple, in the gathering place and in our city? Herald: Yes. Let not my absence ever lead you to believe that the Lord of the Sceptre does not see and hear that which you do. Fleurs: If the time draws near M'lord...can you say we have learned enough to be ready? Herald: I cannot so say. Flamewolf: Good Herald, even those of us of the dark were concerned for your safety. Herald bows his head I thank you. I am well Padon: Herald, what about the gifts that the good Bishop talked about, are those the same you talk about? Herald: The needs given you by the Herald of Light are based upon Enid's wishes. The wishes of the Lord of the Sceptre are given to unto you by his humble servant. In the north. There shall you find good ground to learn your skills. But be wary. You shall soon come to understand. You shall see it. The changes. KatLongfellow: They will first happen in the north? Herald: Some may first be seen there, but none of which comes most soon can compare to that which lays still further beyond within the mists. Fleurs: But it will prepare us? Herald: In part. There are things you shall need to know which shall be given unto you when the waiting has been fulfilled. KatLongfellow: Will everything from the mists be harmful? Herald: No Charlemagne: Will some of it be beneficial? Herald: That which is not harmful might so be seen. Fleurs: We must test all then? Herald: Is it not in your nature to explore? To test? To understand? KatLongfellow: And to dream. Herald: And to dream. There must be much you wish to know, yet finding the words to express the wonder is difficult, is it not? Do you require time to compose your question? Padon: yes NerfanderAnder: I will let the future reveal itself as it will. Herald: You have much wisdom NerfanderAnder. I shall return to hear your question soon after the changes descend upon you. Though you may be...preoccupied. Padre Padre: Yes Herald? Herald: What is it that you have wondered? There was something in particular that troubled you? Padre: I wonder many things. But I will dwell on what you bring from Him. My thoughts are on how to prepare. With little knowledge of what comes, it is difficult. Herald: You have been preparing by learning your skills, by deepening your understand of how to face the foes with which you are familiar. Padre: Indeed we do that. But I fear the gods concern means we need to prepare much more. Herald: This is a good beginning. As what is coming to endanger you grows more clear, you shall be given to know that which you need. Your heart leads you, as always, true Padre. My time grows short. Soon after the changes...I shall return to hear your question. poof top Dialogue 28 August 24, 2001 all present welcome Herald Herald smiles Herald: As was promised, I have returned after the changes to answer your questions. Speak if you will. Marbrooks: Herald of Despothes, I met a bee in the desert. Is this one of the new threats. Talmorr: I traveled Ascetos and it is truly more dangerous, is this something we can expect in time for all of the Realm? Herald: It is a foe against whom you may train for that which comes. Marbrooks: And what of the changes to Valhalla Inn. Herald: Valhalla resides in the village of the Sceptre, and has been reinforced to aid you in your defense. Elmer: Herald, the ones that those of the Dark are to seek, how shall we know it? Herald: Concern yourself not with what those who follow the Dark have been told to seek. In temples one may worship their gods, and by showing their faith, strengthen them for their efforts. Marbrooks: Herald, are our new helmets the only changes in our armor or are there more. Herald: There will be more Marbrooks. Marbrooks: Herald, this bee that attacked me poisoned me, but my armor remained intact. Is that a new blessing from Despothes. Herald: It was a momentary blessing of the gods. Elmer: Herald, there were rumors of Magician's Hats that raised the SDM of the wearer, are those truly existent? Herald: Those items which are new must be found to be known. I cannot foretell to you of their reality. Marbrooks: We will search for them Herald and tell all the people of the Realm of there existence. Herald nods Beware the Northern Desert. Travel not there alone. KatLongfellow: What of the Barrens? Are there great dangers there now? Valendra: Herald, are there other areas that present new dangers, where we should take extra care? Herald: The northern desert is dangerous, the eastern desert remains as it was. Elmer: Herald, how fares Finvarra? Herald: Do you not see the results of Finvarra's efforts at his forge already entering the mortal lands? all answered yes. Herald: GO to his temple, he shall hear your words. KatLongfellow: Will Avalon play a part in the coming times Herald? Herald: Not soon. Faustus: Has new water sprung forth in the desert? Herald: It has. Marbrooks: Herald, this time of testing, will it last long? do we have time to prepare for the next wave if beasts? Herald: You will be given what time may be given. But those that come may break through without warning. KatLongfellow: Will towns be in danger of destruction? Herald: What towns have you chosen to defend? all answer Arimathor, Asgard and Wen Guard them well. Marbrooks: Herald, there is a plaque now in Valhalla Inn, is it of significance. Herald: It carries words of inspiration. Faustus: Are there any magical wizard caps out in the treasure table yet? Herald: Those items which are new must be found to be known. I cannot foretell to you of their reality. My time grows short. poof top Dialogue 29 August 27, 2001 YiraDR: Herald, I gave Donlos your message this evening. Herald nods Did he understand? YiraDR: Yes he did milord Herald: Donlos has been tasked with a new, urgent search. Something has happened. The eyes of Donlos alone are not enough. The evidence must be found. YiraDR: He suggested we could search as well. Herald: All followers of the Balance must aid Donlos in his quest. Something has happened. Find the evidence. Bring it to me. Speak now, if you will. YiraDR: How are we to learn the evidence Herald? Herald: You will know it if you find it. Bring to me the evidence. Marbrooks: Where should we search Herald, in caves or above ground. Herald: Where the light of the sun dims the mists. JMagna44: Is the new revealed land in the Desert of importance Herald? Herald: Dangers grow there. Use them. Learn. JMagna44: Is this what we were to find? Herald: Find it where the light of the sun dims the mists. And bring to me the evidence, that its nature may known. This is urgent. PhoenixStar: Herald, Myic is on her way with something for you. Herald: I shall wait. Elmer: two new talismans that were found. Herald frowns Herald: The tasks of the followers grow. Forget not the offerings. But find the evidence. And learn your skills. It is feared that time is growing short. Mackdanife: Is the evidence something 'dropped from the mists' as Newcomer said earlier?. Herald: We shall see, And pray. Pray that it not be true. What it may represent. You bring the evidence? Myic: Hail Herald Herald: Please permit me to see it. Darter: We come bearing tokens. Myic: I present you with a brown one. Darter: do I give mine too? Herald sighs deeply Herald: Please permit me to see it. Herald sighs deeply Herald: Two? There are two! Darter: we have news of 2 others. PhoenixStar: actually 3 have been found from what I have heard Herald. Herald closes his eyes Herald: Who gave to me the green? Darter: me Herald: Where was this found? Darter: it was found on the floor of the new deep desert. JMagna44: Does each one signify how many of that which is evil have past through the mists Herald? Herald: Silence! Speak only when asked. Myic: The Brown was found right of Wen on the ground by a player named Shmoopy, Herald. Herald: The place of growing danger produced this? Darter: yes sir Herald: The brown was found where the mists still shroud the land? Myic nods. Herald hangs his head Herald: Then it is true. So be it. Continue to seek the evidence. Note well where it is found and bring them to me with your reports. Prepare. These are ill omens. I must return to commune with the Lord of the Sceptre. I shall return for your reports soon. poof top Dialogue 30 August 29, 2001 BishopEdward: Hail to you people of the land. RubberDuck: the Herald is around... BishopEdward nods. Herald: You have seen the signs Bishop? BishopEdward nods at Herald. BishopEdward: I have. An ill omen. Herald: Is there further evidence to be shown? AdamZ: I have a Scale on me Herald Herald: Where was it found? AdamZ: In Zender's Woods Herald: Where in the woods of Zender? Morningdove: some in Bloodwood BishopEdward: What is the count of your find? AdamZ: 6 Morningdove: 2 Elmer: Herald, and I have reports of many others of the green sort as well as the brown being found in the area between Enid's Temple. Herald looks to the Bishop BishopEdward nods at Herald. Flamewolf: I have heard word of 22 found in the deep desert. Madiison: I have heard of a red scale. BishopEdward: The number grows. Herald: She knows then? BishopEdward: She does. Flamewolf: Herald if by she, you mean Newcomer, yes she knows. She came this afternoon and was shown one.. Herald: The Dark Herald is not of import. It is for the gods to be aware. My master bids me say unto you Bishop... The time for the joining grows near. Vallee: of all followings, Herald? Herald: For those that wish to survive. Of this you have been foretold. BishopEdward: Are the people ready for this? Herald: I fear not BishopEdward: We must prepare them! Herald: But the time is not ripe. Finvarra still labors. BishopEdward nods at Herald. Herald: It is too soon. Flamewolf: the dark and light have started working together Vallee: yes, ready and glad to unite with all followings to defend the realm Madiison worships The Realm gods. BishopEdward looks upon Madiison. BishopEdward whispers. Herald: Ahhhh Yes BishopEdward points. Herald nods at BishopEdward. Herald: Then in unity, they may hold against the maelstroms for a time. Yes, I do see. Gather the evidence. Share it among yourselves. Let all be permitted to see the signs of things to come. Herald: Bishop, There have been many prayers heard. BishopEdward: Yes Herald. Herald: Prayers for the Dreamers BishopEdward nods at Herald. Herald: The Sceptre holds hope the Lady of Light shall listen. BishopEdward: She hears them. WarriorGiant: Why are you guys anti-Newcomer? Elmer: They are not Anti-Newcomer, they serve their own God Herald: The Heralds are of no import, the gods are those who shall save you. Focus your attention on your god, not on your prophet. Valanthe: We must all be tolerant of each others' beliefs in whatever god we choose to worship...Only then can we work together to overcome that which threatens the Realm... BishopEdward sighs. Madiison: If we are powerful, but have no faith, we are weak. Herald: Whatever path you have chosen...you shall have need of one another. BishopEdward looks around. BishopEdward: You ask of why the darkness is not here, but you know the answer. You ask. You hear. You ask. But it has been told to you. Why do you not listen? I pray for you all. Herald: This then, is why the Dreamers have come to be? BishopEdward nods at Herald. Madiison: Patience is a gift from all gods. We must share the gift for it is all of ours. Flamewolf: We hear but do not always understand. Herald: Understanding is the most difficult. It comes in time. AdamZ: It is there friendship we value most not their dreams. BishopEdward: Then pray so that they may be saved. A gift for a gift. Herald: The time is short it is feared. It was not expected to come so soon. Watch closely the mists wherein the signs have been found. Watch closely, and guard, lest a breach is made. THEGOD: It will be done M'lord Valanthe: Thank you for your guidance in these matters. Herald nods THEGOD: Can we in anyway help Finvarra? Herald: I am unsure THEGOD. If so, he shall send word. All the gods shall be needed against that which comes I fear. BishopEdward mumbles 'Elanon sadar!' under his breath. BishopEdward vanishes in a puff of smoke. Herald mumbles 'Guhtanik tul eahrak!' under his breath. Herald vanishes in a puff of smoke. at the next location BishopEdward rests. BishopEdward looks around. AdamZ: What do you see? BishopEdward whispers, 'You shall be taken care of children of the wood.' BishopEdward: Make known to Enid your wishes. BishopEdward bows deeply. poof top Dialogue 31 September 18, 2001 AdamZ: Hail Herald Herald: Adam Braeshan prays to Despothes. Herald: Braeshan. Greetings to all. Welcome to the Temple of the Sceptre. I bring word. Are you prepared to receive it? those present said yes Herald: Despothes, Lord of the Sceptre, King of the Gods has granted his brother a boon. I, the Herald of Balance, have thus been tasked to bring you this message from the God of Warfare. Finvarra says: "Long have I watched your battles and noted the tools that you use. And long have I labored at my forge to bring unto you new tools of attack and of defense. More shall be needed in the trials to come. Consider most carefully, what magics would you desire?" Such is the message brought unto you from the God of Warfare. You are given time to devise your answers. Speak if you will. Elmer: Herald, I think that is a subject we should think upon, that we might choose wisely. Herald: You are given time to devise your answers. Padre: Herald, you have faced what comes. Have you wisdom to offer us in this decision? Herald: Each must seek wisdom for himself Padre. It must be learned through experience. Braeshan: How goes Donlos' search? Does he come closer to that which he seeks? Herald: Donlos has, I fear, grown confused. Elmer: Herald, I would ask one thing. Herald: Speak if you will Elmer. Elmer: One of the sentries invaded the Temple of Enid when the messenger of light was there, we saw him not, but the Bishop did...are we to gain a means to see this new creature(s) that comes? Herald: This has not been told unto me. The gods listen to your needs. Perhaps. AdamZ: Herald, The one named Defar is he "something" that has been sent? Or is he yet another that is a fake? Herald: Messages and mysteries may come in many forms. Watch, listen, and then act as your judgment dictates. Remember, it is you who will decide success of failure in the trials to come. KatLongfellow: Herald, why has your crown changed color? Herald: It has been cleaned. KatLongfellow: Why, was it unclean before? Herald: From long unuse. Braeshan: I have another question, if I may? Herald: Speak if you will. Braeshan: We indeed know, that among all our followings, unity and solidarity are key to our survival... Yet many among all the faiths have become over-zealous, and self-serving... they operate independent of the whole. And it damages the fabric of our unity. How may we best help others to see their ways? Herald: There are many paths and each must be walked by some. To each, let them choose for themselves how they might pursue their goals. LilXaaber: Herald, may I ask you a question? can I try on your headgear? Herald: You may ask, you may not wear. DragnDave: Long time no see Herald. Herald: I come when there is a purpose. KatLongfellow: Herald, is there a source behind what is happening? Herald: Of course there is a source. It is of the earth. It is of the skies. Know thee well the history of thy lands and repeat not the mistakes of old. RubberDuckie: Shall there be more changes in the land soon, Herald? Herald: Indeed, more changes will come. KatLongfellow: Can the source itself be defeated? Herald: Time will tell. DragnDave: Herald, does the name Misthos or Slayback mean anything to you? Herald: These are names from the histories. DragnDave: Is the evil connected to Slayback? I have read much on the histories trying to better understand what may be coming. Herald: Of this I am unsure...let us pray it not be so. AdamZ: Herald, This magic we are to select, do you have any ideas to what form we should choose? Herald: This is a task given unto you by Finvarra. You have time to consider it carefully. But it is you who must decide. Elmer: Herald, will there be a temple to Mabon, that we may also leave him offerings that we may show respect to him? Herald: Mabon has long been lost in the mists. Perhaps, one day, you may help to find him. RubberDuckie: Do we return the answer to you, Herald? Herald: I will return, in time, for your answers. Know thee this as you consider your needs...nothing you have faced compares to what is to come. I shall return to carry your reply to the God of the Forge. *poof* top Dialogue 32 September 25, 2001 AdamZ: Herald, there are a few that will be on there way. They to are in battle. We were all training. Herald: Very well. AdamZ: May I ask you a question Herald? Herald: Speak if you will. AdamZ: This magic we are to chose, is it to be a spell to be on a Sword or Armor? Herald: The question posed was "what magics would you desire?" Finvarra has asked "What magics would you desire?" How do you answer? KatLongfellow: We may need more time. Herald: More time? AdamZ: I'm afraid that I cannot speak for everyone, Herald. Herald: Speak fro youself. Note to self: install a spell checker. KatLongfellow: We had thought that you meant "new weapons and armor". AdamZ: Well myself, I think a defensive magic would be best because I think that is what is to come. I think a defensive standing is better then an offensive one. Herald nods Herald: Know you Finvarra's role in things? AdamZ: He is the God of War is he not? Herald: He is. And, as has been told you, he labors at his forge. It is he who asks of you the question..."What magics would you desire?". Have mortals not yet learned the lessons of the War of the Continuum? You have had a week in which to discuss your needs among yourselves and you know not yet how to answer? AdamZ: Well many misread your words Herald. KatLongfellow: Many misunderstood what you meant. Herald: As is always the case. Yet the words were there for you to refer back to. You have been told, repeatedly, that you MUST learn to work to together. If you cannot come together to answer a question...how can you hope to defend yourselves from that which comes? KatLongfellow: Herald may I ask you a question? Herald: Speak if you will. KatLongfellow: How can we know which magics will be helpful if we do not know what will come? Herald: You have been tasked to train using those skills, weapons, and knowledge you now possess. And have been told you will receive that which you need to confront the danger. The training you now undergo is not without value...you use that which you now know...and so you may still assess what more you might need...using that which you now know. Elfkins: There is much we would desire as a whole. Herald: Then speak it. Elfkins: Each class and race has different needs. As a wizard I would desire to be a bit more protected in battle. Herald: Finvarra...creates weapons and armor and asks of you what magics would you desire. He has given unto you new armors and asks of you what magics would you desire. KatLongfellow: Will these magics be in the form of spells? Or enchanted weapons and armor? Herald: Spells are the providence of Mabon. Finvarra creates weapons and armor. AdamZ: I cannot speak for all, but it was suggested that spells of Summon Elemental, or Summon Baby Dragon perhaps Herald. Herald: For such things as this you will need to locate Mabon. KatLongfellow: I speak for myself, but I would personally like a high damage throwing dagger. Herald: I shall carry your desire to Finvarra. Valendra: Herald, there has been much discussion among the followers. Some things discussed include items like armors of shifting, or invisibility. Weapons enchanted to be light enough for all to use effectively, with greater damage to the foe, such as the others have described. DaMaddHatta: Armor of shifting, would be very helpful for all, especially for a wizard. Herald: Armor of Shifting... KatLongfellow: We have also discussed the use of a metal known as Virtanium, but we know very little about it. Herald: Then perhaps you ought learn more before making any such requests. KatLongfellow: I have read from the histories about it, but there is no other reference to it. AdamZ: Virtanium is Admantium is it not Herald? Herald: You are all resourceful. If it is to be found, you will find it. If it is not found, then it does not exist...yet. Continue to seek. It appears you need more time to devise your answers as one. You are granted an extension. This once. And I caution you...learn to work together. poof top Dialogue 33 October 2, 2001 Herald nods. Herald: Welcome to the Temple of the Sceptre. They are difficult to form? The leaves on the floor...they appear to be in the form of the runes. KatLongfellow: I created them this morning Herald. Herald: It is well. Algiz - protection and defense. Tiwaz - the rune of the war. Placed on weapons it is said to assure victory. Nauthiz - the strength of need. It is Nauthiz that drives you now. LilCrown: M'lord do you seek an answer for that which was asked of us? Herald: Finvarra has asked "What magics would you desire?" How do you answer? Vallee: Many followers have many answers. KatLongfellow: We have compiled a list which includes Life stealing. Herald: And many answers may I carry... LilCrown: I for one answer Tiwaz. Herald: Do not confuse the runes with the question. Ban: A throwing dagger with stun. Vallee: Life stealing for protection and offense. Herald: There are no promises made. No guarantees. But that which you desire will be...considered. LilCrown: The Gods have a greater knowledge of ways to come and we feel they will provide what is needed for us to succeed. Herald: You wish to leave the choice to the gods? KatLongfellow: We would like a armor which could boost intelligence, one that could boost endurance...I am giving you the list that we have compiled Herald. LilCrown: Many voices can not speak as one m'lord. Herald: All who wish to be heard will be heard. KatLongfellow: We also would desire a plate that could reflect magics. Herald: Reflect magics? As in...prevent their effect or...Mirror the effect back upon the caster? KatLongfellow: Yes, one that would reflect the magic casted.. back to the caster. LilCrown: Yes. Herald: I see. Continue. LilCrown: Also our Armor has a low Armor rating and is not sufficient for the invaders, we ask for God-like Armor. Herald: Ask not for items that belong to the gods. Such power will never be given unto mortal hands. EdofnorII: Well, I would like to see armor that boosts carrying capacity enough for one to equip Fuloran's Maul. KatLongfellow: Also Herald, we find that our poison shield is not good enough for what we may face, so we ask for extra venom protection. Herald: Spells are the providence of Mabon. Seek Mabon. Make your requests for spells of him. LilCrown: Attribute enhancing armor would also help. KatLongfellow: Also, we have spoken of Shifting items such as Hood of Shifting to armor of shifting. GreyThorn: Also a Robe of Hiding might be nice. Herald: What is a Robe of Hiding? YoungOne: Similar to Pants of Invisibility perhaps? GreyThorn: A robe with invisibility chanted on it. LilCrown: Makes the wearing invisible. Herald: Does it say Peek-A-Boo when you take it off? Herald smiles KatLongfellow: As far as weapons, we find executioners axe and wrath to be very useful...but could be better if they were not so heavy and if magics were placed upon their blades. As I also mentioned before, our throwing daggers do not do enough damage to help against what is to come. Herald: Lighter weapons that carry the same power as those which now exist... Herald shakes head I shall carry the request. LilCrown: More powerful weapons too m'lord. Herald: There is always the desire to gain power. And it must be so. But there will also always remain limits. Vallee: Also, a one-handed lifestealing 3 combat square range lightweight sword. EdofnorII: Perhaps the Nullsword could be improved upon; it has many traits that are useful already such as experience/life stealing qualities. KatLongfellow: Herald, lighter weapons like an EA or wrath but with magic such as life steal and extra fire and ice damage. Herald: I shall convey your requests, but I do not hold much hope for such things. GreyThorn: Dexterity and Strength are already enchantable, will there be a way to raise Intelligence the same way? Herald: I doubt it GreyThorn. YoungOne: Herald are there magics we can request, for plain casting? Halphalp: Perhaps if the gods see something that fit our needs better than our requests, they might help us. Herald: Spells are the providence of Mabon. Seek him to make such requests. I should think that much is guaranteed. EdofnorII: And how will we send our messages to him? LilCrown: He is in the mists is he not? Herald: Seek him and ask him. When he can be found...you will find the way. LilCrown: M'lord, when shall we know an answer if I may ask? Herald: You shall know what magics Finvarra has favored when the objects are found. Know thee this...as you have faith in the gods to protect and serve you, so have the gods faith in you. Your intelligence and resourcefulness, your skills and determination, and, above all else, your ability to cooperate...all of these will serve you as well as anything the gods may do in the times to come. I shall convey your desires to Finvarra. poof top Dialogue 34 October 12, 2001 Herald: There is turmoil. There is turmoil in the Darkness, and tears in the Light. The Gardens of the Gods...They are signs of faith. They give strength to the believers and, thereby, strength to the gods. Why...Why is there no garden for Darkness? Halphalp: Those of Dark have left many symbols! Herald: And yet no garden has grown. Why? Halphalp: This I don't know, though I see no reason why it has not. Perhaps Duach is focusing on other matters? Herald: Perhaps so. There is great turmoil boiling within the Darkness. Something is wrong. It must be learned...why is there no garden of darkness? why does turmoil boil in the darkness? And the tears bring shed within the Light...something is wrong. Seek the answers. Bring them to me. poof top Dialogue 39 December 30, 2001 those present hailed Herald Herald nods. PhoenixStar: You have been gone for a long time Herald. Is all well with you? Herald: I will bring the message into the temple this day. Now in this time I look over the city. TopGun4: Herald do you need assistanace? Herald: There is nothing that you can help me with at this time. *wanders around EL* THEGOD: Herald many await The Festival to honor Duach Herald: You have heard word from your voice on this matter. Verilon: a crown? Herald: The crown I wear upon my head is the mark of the voice for the King of the Gods. *went to Asgard* Herald prays to Despothes... Herald nods. *To the Temple* Herald: I have not brought word to you in a great while. It is by the command of our Lord that you were to be left alone for a time to see what would become of your belief in him. Should you become strong or weak in your faith. What have you to say? PhoenixStar: I believe the followers of Despothes are still strong Herald. THEGOD: I believe the Following has not yielded any loss. Herald: There is a purpose for each action. It is you that must decide what to do. TopGun4: What are the choices? Herald: When the King of Gods sends you no word it is your choice to remain strong or become weak. In your actions things are done. THEGOD: THe followers of Balance have had a Festival in Despothes name as well since your last visit. Herald: This is noted. Cyranos: And I believe that YiraDR has another planned THEGOD: Yes another is planned soon M'lord. It was Grand as it should be. Herald: Our Lord is pleased. With no word from their voice those that walk between have grown strong. This is as it should be with all. Cyranos: Herald, I believe they have used the chance to train ever harder Herald: As should you all Cyranos. THEGOD: the followers of the Dark remain very strong in there Faith as well. Sweetykins: The Followers of Enid have also remained strong Herald nods. Herald: What of the gift? TopGun4: Light is well. She has not received dreams from our Goddess of late however. Cyranos: Light is well, and goes almost daily to heal and otherwise bless those of the lands, giving us a good example of how we should treat our fellows. THEGOD: Herald if I may ask...Any word of the coming Invasion? Herald: You may ask THEGOD and I shall say to you, we live in a delicate time where things are ever changing. You have been told by many voices that if the time is given the plans will change yet again. I have seen what I have come to see. I will return in time. top Dialogue 41 January 21, 2002 Herald: Commands from the gods have been heard today. If the darkness requests help see they receive it. The same is true for the light. The labors of Finvarra are almost complete and soon they shall fill the lands to give you aid. Herald looks around. Padre: A question Herald Herald: The people of this land have grown in wisdom. See that the wisdom is well used. As of now, those of this temple are to keep watch of all towns favored by the gods. In these towns many things roam. Keep vigil of each one. Should you find something of concern ask those of the other faiths to give aid to you. The gift placed in each of these cities is to be protected. The Lord of the Scepter requests this. Make it so. Speak Padre. Padre: What if the request of Dark and Light are at odds? Herald: Bring balance and understanding. Padre: It shall be as He commands Herald: You reside in a unique position as a follower of Balance. You are all and one. Padre: Does Donlos still seek the One? Herald: He rests in the place of the gifts removal. I say to you all, See to it that the request of our lord is upheld. Find and protect. top Dialogue 42 January 22, 2002 Herald: Summon the followers of balance for words of our Lord. I have words to give. KatLongfellow: I do not see many of the followers on at this time Herald. Herald: Very Well. Hear me now. This day the followers of this temple need be watchful. In days past, those that follow the Dark have sought out the beast and confronted it. Be on the alert for that which escapes the mists. Beware those that hunger for knowledge and sustenance coming forth from the place that took the Light. Beware the hairless one. They are to be driven from the land for they are harbingers of disaster and their power will grow with time. Be it on your own or with those of Light or Dark, be ever vigilant and dispose of these creatures with great dispatch. Know that they will increase in number and will be ever harder to overcome. You are tasked to protect the favored cities lest they fall. I say to you these things for they are the words of The Lord of the Scepter. KatLongfellow: Herald, are these new creatures to this land? Herald: They are those that have escaped from the Mists. Their form may be one of many. Once again I say, beware the Hairless one. My time is short top Dialogue 43 January 24, 2002 Herald: Hail WarriorGiant Greetings to those that follow Balance. Assemble to faithful. Bring them here. The time draws near. They that crawl from the mists will increase in number. Beware the Hairless One for his presence is the sign of that which will come. I task you this Followers of Balance. It is time to work with both the Light and Dark to aid in the defense of the favored cities. The time draws near and you must be prepared to face the beasts. Heed these words, for they are the those of the Lord of the Scepter. YiraDR: A question if I may? when the time is right? Herald: Your question YiraDR. YiraDR: It is said that a "hairless one" has been slain, is there another, the one of which you speak? KatLongfellow: Is there more than one? Herald: The Hairless One is a harbinger. He must not be allowed to grow and become all powerful since that would signal the beginning. YiraDR: He is the leader of the others then Herald? Herald: He is that which comes. He walks alone but others will follow. YiraDR: There was a hairless one called Labon. It is hard to know who is real, save for the words they say and hints they give. Herald: The Hairless One will come. His name will be of his own choosing. If you cannot dispatch the beast, seek out those that can. Do not let him escape. My time is short. My Lord calls and I obey. top Dialogue 44 January 25, 2002 Herald: I have words from the Lord of the Scepter. This servant of Balance welcomes all of the faithful. In this time of trial, many will cross from the Mists. Wary you should be of these creatures for they know only destruction. I tell you this. They will grow in power and the destruction they will bring will surely cause ruin to the cities. You have been warned and tasked about the Hairless One, since he is the one that leads. Little is known about these creatures of the Mist, since they are formed from the mire deep within the Mists. But, be assured that they have been sent by powerful forces. Be it known that their demise is necessary and there are but a few ways to destroy them. It is known that items blessed by the gods will bring their end, but there exists yet one more way to cause their end. Seek that which quenches the thirst of the gods. Disguise well this elixir for the beasts will be wary if they suspect the content. Cause them to drink and they will leave the mortal shell they infect. Do this in the name of the Lord of the Scepter and he will be pleased. Valanthe: Herald...just because they leave the body...does that mean they can return in another form? Or are they dead? I ask because we have noticed that some have returned after being killed by a crystal. Herald: Once destroyed by the nectar they will cease to exist. Valanthe: So, a crystal will not permanently destroy them? Herald: The Hairless still walks amonst you AdamZ: Herald may I ask a question, when you have a moment to answer. Herald: Your Question AdamZ AdamZ: Those of that search for Light... How will we know where to look? Herald: I speak only for those followers of Balance Gruumsh: Herald, why was the use of ambrosia not told to the followers before now? Herald: All things are revealed when the time is ripe Sharny: Then we must search him out. Is there a way we would know him Herald? Herald: It must be done. You will know because they seek food and knowledge. AdamZ: Herald the one named Labon... killed by Valanthe was Hairless... does this mean anything? Herald: What matters not are those who walked before, only those that come from the mists now. Sharny: But the hairless one will apear differently Herald: There is no way to know what form this creature of mire will assume. But the Hairless One will walk amongst you - he will lead Sharny: Hairless as in Bald, there have been some of those Herald: Hairless as in Hairless Sharny. You will know when you look closely at the beast KatLongfellow: Herald does Finvarra still prepare weapons for us? Herald: The weapons will come AdamZ: Herald is there a numbering system to these beasts? We have noticed one of them yeilding this "63/100" Herald: There is no method to see what form they take or the number they will be. Numbers hold no import only that all must be destroyed lest they become too powerful to destroy Gruumsh: Is their entrance to this world opened by Light's attempts to escape? Sharny: Then let me ask this...do they come from the place Light disapeared? Herald: They will come from there that Light was taken YiraDR: I stand watch at our chosen place Herald, could the Hairless One appear there? Herald: The Hairless One will come when he comes AdamZ: Herald, will these beasts enter the towns? Herald: They will walk all of the land KatLongfellow: Herald the towns themselves will be attacked? Even the innocent? Herald: No cities will escape attack. Once again my Lord summons and I obey. top Dialogue 45 January 26, 2002 Herald: Greetings to all of the faithful. A message from my Lord follows. It is known that one from the Mists was killed this day past. Be it known that he who was killed was indeed without hair, but the Hairless One still walks amongst you. These things that rise from the Mists are but a glimpse of that which is yet to come. They have neither the power nor the strength of that which will follow. TopGun4: Herald, will the hairless one have eyebrows? Herald: If eyebrows exist they will be but a trace. Be ever vigilant to rid the land of these vermin before their threat grows. You that are of Balance are therefore tasked to help maintain the balance of the land. This you can do by aiding the Light or the Dark in these efforts. AdamZ: Enid has walked among us this day Herald. TopGun4: She spoke of our gathering we planned for later, to rescue the gift. Herald: It is good that the gathering will occur. My Lord concurs. RainbowWarrior: The Hairless One, will his power be greater than those that we slay now? Herald: In the dimmest portions of the Mists awaits a cursed blight unlike any before. The Lord of the Scepter commands that this can be avoided with your faithful adherence to balance. Stay the path of Balance and follow that which has been laid before you. Morrigann: Herald, may I be so bold as to ask. Is there certain way that the bald ones must be killed to be sure they stay dead...??? Herald: Be it as has been told, death will come by that which the gods have blessed. Death will also come to those creatures that drink of the nectar. AdamZ: We have chosen to name the nectar "Water of Knowledge" is this a good name for it? Herald: The name can be of your choosing, but it will become more difficult to fool those who come. RainbowWarrior: Also, the tokens drop from these Beasts. Do they identify the Beast as real and not someone trying to influence the followings, or will they be used for something else?? Herald: If the beasts carry with them certain objects, hold these dear for they will be of great need in time. TopGun4: Herald, do you speak of unusal tokens? Herald: Tokens are that which some carry AdamZ: The beasts have yet to drop anything else Herald. Yorick: We have found little on these beasts. Herald: That which the beasts carry cannot be told. In time they may try to take more from the Mists. These items they carry will be of great import. RainbowWarrior: We will hold them dear to us. AdamZ: Will they be of nothing we have seen before? Herald: It is told that many new things will fall to those that vanquish the beasts. RainbowWarrior: Are the labors of Finvarra close to completion? Herald: The sound of Finvarra's Forge can be heard through the night. The time is near for a great conflict to begin. RainbowWarrior: Do the beasts constantly roam the lands? Herald: They will come when they come. They do not take to our timetable. My Lord summons and I humbly comply. top Dialogue 46 January 27, 2002 Herald: Gather around me faithful of Balance for I have grave news. It appears that the foreboding is sadly at hand. In days not distant, the unspeakable will arise from the Mists. They will come in great numbers and powerful they will be. Strong you must remain. Meld together and liken yourselves to the fingers of a clenched fist to meet this new danger. It is possible some of these beasts will be weak since they are but newborns, but there will be those that walk in the shoes of strength and terror. The whole of knowledge gained by their early precursors will be theirs. And now that which was one has become many. It is believed that armor destined for this land was taken by these foul creatures. Magic bestowed upon the armor by Finvarra makes this loss of even more import. These powerful and magical items must be retrieved lest the balance of power swing toward the Mist. Gather the faithful. Join efforts with the Light and the Dark. Prepare for the impending battles, for they are near. You are tasked to rid the land of these creatures of slime and mire. They must not overrun the cities lest the land falls to their evil rule. In time, you may be tasked to pursue the vermin even into the Mists. Hear the words of my Lord for he bids you face this evil with courage and strength. Just know that he walks arm in arm with the faithful. These words I speak in the name of the Lord of the Scepter. Hear them and obey. due to scroll bug some is missing, but this is a summary He said we must fight as one or be defeated. It seems we can get our new weapons from them if we kill them. We are to use the weapons we have, until then, and use the ones we have the greatest skill in. He said we will not have to fight in towns, the rules will remain the same. If the cities fall, all of Realm falls as well. He stressed yet again to go in groups Herald: To go alone would be heroic indeed but..it may be that that will be most difficult Beschattet: Herald... These new beasts... When we attack them, will that leave the door open, afterward, for us to be attacked by others for some time? Herald: When you face these creatures you will change not at all. Beschattet: I understand Herald: These are deeds that must be done. Their form is yet unknown but be assured you will know them. THEGOD: Can the faithful defeat the entire Mist? Herald: With help and guidance of your gods. Will you take this task in the name of The Lord of Balance? (all present, Light, Dark and Balance answered "we will".) Herald: The Lord will remember who will..Be it in the name of the Dark or the Light or of Balance - the deed remains. My Lord summons and I humbly comply. |
