I got really scared today when Mommy picked me
up. I was sitting beside her on the floor & she pulled me on
to her lap. I clawed on her legs & she put me back
down. She knows I didn't mean to hurt her - I was just so
afraid!

I got to go outside in the backyard today for the
first time without my leash. I played chase with both Gretchen
& Missy - I can run really fast! I never once tried to hide
underneath the deck from Mommy or Daddy. Now I will be allowed
out in the back without my leash - I am very excited! I had so
much fun playing outside with my sisters. When I come back
inside with my sisters, Mommy tells us I am a very good boy &
gives me a biscuit.

Today I learned a new word - "cousins". I
met my human sister, Tracy, for the first time she is VERY nice, but I
was afraid of her too. She brought my new cousins with her -
their names are Kate & Drake. Kate terrified me & I ran
off & hid in my kennel. Believe me, she is even worse than
Missy! She even tried to follow me into my kennel, but Mommy
closed the door so I would feel safe. Drake just tried to sniff
me all over & he scared me because he is much bigger than I
am.

I played outside with my sisters today. I
have started to play with Missy now. We played tug of war with
one of her toys. I let her win, because she can be really mean
if she doesn't get her way! Tonight I had my first bath in a
bathtub - I didn't like it much. Daddy said I was a very good
boy & I must admit I smell much better!
April 3, 2003
Today was not a very good day. Mommy tried
to give me a haircut after dinner. Daddy lifted me up on the
grooming table & Mommy clipped some of the hair off of my
back. When she brought those clippers up by my head, I went
absolutely ballistic! Daddy put me on the floor & I ran off
& hid in my kennel. My parents say I look really funny right
now, but they haven't tried to cut my hair again!

Mommy says I am doing so much better that I don't
have to write in my diary every day now. So from now on I will only be
writing about new things.

Missy got into trouble big time today. She
chewed up my pretty little elephant that Daddy gave me. Mommy was
really mad at her - she told her she was very BAD! Then Mommy went to
Pets Smart & bought me a big bear. Mommy told Missy to keep her
paws off my new bear because it is just for me! I love it because it is very soft
and plays beautiful music.

Some lady came to our house today & snooped around every room. She made me very nervous so I hid in the back of my crate.
Missy & Gretchen barked at her, but she just kept checking out everything in our house.

The lady that was here yesterday came back & put a for sale sign in our front yard. I don't really know what that sign
means, but I do know I don't like strange people coming into my house.

What an awful week this has been. Almost every time the telephone rings, Mommy puts all 3
of us in the car & makes us go
for long rides. I don't like to go in the car very much as it makes me very nervous. Before we leave, Mommy picks up all of our toys and puts
them in the closet where we can't even reach them. When we get back home we know people have been in our house because we can smell them.
We bark & bark trying to warn our mommy but she doesn't seem to be concerned.

Mommy & Daddy were very happy today. They told us that our house was sold and we would be moving soon. I don't know
what that means - I just hope it doesn't mean any more changes. Having to make changes makes me very anxious!
