It is within the subconscious that we can change our habit patterns. Whenever we repeat actions and thoughts it is being reinforced into our subconscious. Eg. Perhaps we always eat while watching TV, when coming in after a date, whenever in the kitchen, when reading or other activity. Some of these habits we may wish to change.
In a hypnotherapy session you will be able to break a negative habit pattern and introduce the new positive habit or behavior. You may say; I have already tried to introduce the new habits, but I soon slide off after a few days. The new habit or behavior will more easily take root with hypnosis because you are reaching the subconscious where all habits are formed to start with. You will also be able to become aware of how you are sabotaging yourself.
Your new habit has to be repeated also for it to take root. This habit has to be felt internally first. Can you imagine yourself experiencing this new habit or behaviour with all your senses?
Old behaviour: When I am bored on Sunday afternoon I make a big meal.
New behaviour When I am bored on Sunday afternoon I join a friend to walk the dogs.
Imagine the park, the trees, your laughing voices, feel the aerobic exercise, smell the flowers, the familiar smell of your coat, or dog, the blue sky, the excitement of running with the dog. Really own it as real.
Now that you have visualized the desired scenario, you must also be commited to follow through with action. At first you may not want to make changes in your habits but you can begin by wanting to want it. Identify with the healthy lifestyle you will be gaining, rather than what you are giving up or changing.
Do you find certain moods or feelings influence when you eat? Perhaps when anxious, bored, angry, happy, tired or disappointed? Making this connection can bring more awareness and ultimately more choice to the situation.
What do you need to say to yourself so that you stay on track with your goal to reach your ideal weight? Find those statements now. Stay away from reprimanding and negative statements. Be positive and brief.
Repeat the affirmations several times a day. Keep them handy in your wallet. You do not have to have your eyes closed to do this. You can do this almost anywhere. For instance driving in the car, doing the dishes, exercising or waiting in line.
Some positive affirmations you can begin using now:

I put only healthy and nutritious foods into my mouth
I am only addicted to loving myself, nothing has power over me.
I value myself by what I put into and by what I do not put into my body.
If you find your positive efforts constantly sabotaged by yourself, then it is time to meet your inner saboteur!.
